Vision in Silver 365-459
Talk about action-packed! This section had me hooked. I had a feeling a confrontation was coming but I wasn't sure how it would play out. I think Bishop did a great job being able to describe not just one fight scene but multiple going on at the same time.
Another thing I liked about this section was that there was actually description of how Simon and Nathan and the others had to spend time healing, in other books sometimes that aspect will be skipped over and injuries will be magically healed, but that was surprisingly realistic.
The idea of extinction of the human race being an easy task is hard ti imagine, but apparently for the terra indegene it's a perfectly plausible solution to the fighting that's been going on lately. I'm excited to see Montgomery's reaction when Simon tells him that this idea is up in the air for the near-future.
There are quite a few sub-plots going on right now and for the most part I think Bishop has done a good job explaining them and connecting them to each other. When I'm reading this novel I can see it in my head as a TV show with the vast amount of characters and plot lines. I think one of the stories I'm most interested in at this point is about cs821, I hope by the end of the novel she's able to pick a name for herself.
Overall I think I'm enjoying the book a little more after this section and I hope we continue to see more action through the end of the novel.

You commented on a lot of points in this section that I think were easy to forget about, especially after the big battle that stole all my attention. One thing I found interesting is the comment you made about how the terra indigene are considering human extinction because they think it might be a good idea. I guess I don't see it like that because if the humans and terra indigene were actually civil towards one another then I feel like they would be able to benefit from one another. Plus, the terra indigene are friends with some humans as well such as Meg, Monty, Kowalski, and many more. In order for the humans to go extinct they would have to die too else the human population would just grow again and I don't think that killing all the humans would be the best solution to solve their problems.
ReplyDeleteThis part of the story is really action packed and it made me understand more and really want to read the book. I like how it explained how Meg wanted to sit around and help Simon and Nathan heal after the fight and not just glaze over the healing part of the story. I think since the ancient ones are the main species of the planet it isn’t as weird for them to just remove a pest from their Earth. Humans in the real world think about just wiping out ants and bugs and don’t even second guess it, the humans in the story are just bugs to the ancients.
